The great depression happened during 1932 and 1941,in America. it happened because of the fall of the stock market.The president who was elected during the start of the depression was called president Hoover. Citizens of America insulted president Hoover because they hated him.
Farmers had to abandon there farms because of the dust ball that happened whilst the great depression was happening.
Many citizens of America did not like President hoover because he felt that the government was not responsible for helping people in need at that time.

The only way that the citizens could insult President hoover was calling multiple things after him, such as calling shanty shacks 'Hoovervilles'. Shanty shacks are shacks made out of cardboard scrap metal etc. Usually they are at the out skirts of towns and cities

The dust bowl was similar to the Longreach drought in Queensland, 2014. Also the dust bowl was an impact to all citizens of the United States of America. The two are alike because by how the farmers were impacted. Both needed rain to grow crops to gain money. They also had to just hope for rain or they had to flee their farm to get money elsewhere.
