First of all the people do not get a freedom to choose a job. Instead they are assigned a job when they turn 12. This does not give the choice to change the job or decide what they will spend their life on. This is basically an act of slavery.m

The leaders have the control of their thoughts. They do this by making the people think they are safe in the city but the truth is they are not. They manipulate them to continue every day having the mindset that they will live their life to the fullest. The leaders and elders are as a metaphor to the masters of the slaves.
