was the rest of the population with the bourgeoisie and the middle class, at the top.
(this estate included merchants,craftsmen, peasants, and lawyers)
Estates General.....
was the French legislative body made up of representatives from each estate.
Aristocracy....
Are nobles, that made up the second estate.
Bourgeoisie....
Is the middle class, stood at the top of the estate.
National Assembly...
was a government that consisted of delegates from the third estate.
Fall Of The Bastille...
when King Louis XVI banned the third estate from meetings with the estate general, which were held in Versailles.
Tennis Court Oath
when they gathered on the Kings tennis courts to write a new constitution for the government.
Declaration Of Rights Of Men and Citizens ....
A document that was written by the Marquis de Lafayette, it stated that the government got its power from the people, not the king.
National Convention....
Was when the constitution was set aside, the king imprisoned, and the legislature took over.
Radicals....
were people who favor quick and far reaching changes to set up a new government.

Is a radical revolutionary group.

was when Robespierre gained power as a dictator and began the Reign of Terror in France.

was the leader of The Committee Public Safety that gained power as a dictator.

Was to crush opposition of he revolution, theNational Convention set up the Committee of Public Safety to run the country.
Directory....
Was from 1795 to 1799 when France was ruled by five moderate men.

When directory lost favor in 1799, Boneparte staged a Coup d' Etat and took the title of First Consul.
