THE FOOD EATEN
Unlike the myths the didnt eat pumpkin pies
They did eat regular whole cranberries though
The Native Americans killed 5 deer and offered it to them as a gift
During this time they ate what ever was available
There was venison in what they ate

THE PEOPLE
Unlike the myths there was colonist not pilgrims
They mostly didn't wear silver buckles on their shoes
An american author started to write recipes for pumpkin pies, and Mash Potatoes
The colonist were just like you and me, normal people
They had help with food, because they came at a time without a lot of food

It lasted more than a day

MODERN THANKSGIVING
We now celebrate thanksgiving on the last week of November
We now eat pumpkin pie, turkey
We don't eat real cranberries, just the sauce and relish
We now eat stuffing and other things
Some of the things we think you can't have thanksgiving without it but the pilgrims did
