PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM

BY:HENRY

First it starts in our mouth where the teeth begin to break down the food into smaller pieces and the enzymes known as amylase begin to break down the starch into sugar molecules .

Next, it goes down the esophagus and into the stomach were the acids kill bacteria and the enzymes begin break down protein into amino acids.

After the stomach is then the small intestine, which is were the starch, protein and fat molecules are broken down by little cells called enzymes, and absorbed through the walls of the intestine. Water, minerals and vitamins are also absorbed in the small intestine

Next is the large intestine which is were all the food that could not be absorbed goes through, a little bit more water is absorbed, the food builds up in the anus and forms faeces.
