INTRODUCTION

Sanger Rainsford has to defeat General Zarrof in a game, in order to keep his life.

A SHOT AND A SPLASH

Somewhere in blackness a gun was fired, trying to get a better look he fell overboard.

THE BULKY GUARD

Rainsford lifted the knocker, he was greeted by "a gigantic creature" that held a gun.

A "NEW" ANIMAL

Shortly into his stay, Sanger and Zarrof start disagreeing on the idea of killing people.

AN INNOCENT WISH

Rainsford wishes to leave, but isn't allowed. The General wishes to teach him more.

CIVILIZED CAPTURE

'We have electricity'. He uses it to capture boats with rocks that act as a claw.

GAME OR PAIN

Rainsford asks once more to leave. He can leave if he wins a game or dies.

PANTHER IN THE TREE

A tree is his first hideout. Once he sees the general he wants to pounce and kill him.

BOWLING TREE

Rainsford's second hiding place. He sets a Malay Man catcher and injures Zarrof.

TIGERS VS DOGS

The third hiding place. Rainsford makes and camouflages a pit, one of the dogs falls in.

FEISTY SAPPLING

The last trap. Sanger ties his knife to a springy sapling and sent it flying, killing Ivan.

CLIMAX: A JUMP AND A SWIM

To get away from Zarrof, Sanger jumped into the ocean and swam away, not to return.

RESOLUTION: ASLEEP OR DEAD

We can infer that Sanger defeated Zarrof. Sanger gets the bed and Zarrof is dog food.
