The respiratory system

  • Lungs
  • Trachea
  • Bronchi/Bron
  • Nose and mouth
  • Diaphram

What Does The respiratory system do?

  • It brings oxygen in from the nose and mouth down into the lungs.
  • From the lungs, the oxygen is sent into the bloodstream to the muscles.
  • From the muscles the blood offloads the oxygen.
  • Then the blood takes the carbon dioxide and sends it back to the lungs.
  • It travels back to the lungs and the system starts all over.

The Lungs

Move oxygen into the body and carbon dioxide out.

The Nose

Bring oxygen into our body

THe Trachea

It filters our air and branches into the bronchi.

the bronchi

Sends air into the inside wall of lungs.

The diaphram

Helps to create more air space in the chest cavity.

The Circulatory System

  • Heart
  • Blood Vessels
  • Plasma
  • Arteries
  • Platelets

What does the circulatory system do?

  • It transports nutrients, water, and oxygen to your billions of body cells
  • Carries away wastes such as carbon dioxide that body cells produce.
  • Connects all your body cells.
  • Carries blood to your heart.
  • Helps heal cuts and fight infection.

THe Heart

Pumps your blood and keep blood moving throughout the body.

Blood Vessels

Arteries, Veins, and Capillaries.

Plasma

Carries blood cells and other components throughout body.

Arteries

Carry oxygen rich blood away from heart.

PLatelets

Help stop bleeding.

Oxygen is brought into the body by the respiratory system.

Blood moves the oxygen throughout the body and puts carbon dioxide into the lungs by the circulatory system.

Common Medical Conditions

  • Congenital Heart Disease
  • Asthma
  • Respiratory Tract Infection
  • Heart Attack
  • Pulmonary Vascular Abnormality
