THE CELL WALL
Firm, protective structure that gives the cell its shape in plants

Like the cell wall, a school gate acts as a protective barrier and shapes the perimeter of the school itself.

THE CELL MEMBRANE
Allows things to exit and enter the cell

The cell membrane allows things to enter and exit the cell, like the doors of a school

Vesicles
Provides temporary storage of food, enzymes, and waste products

Vesicles are used to store unused materials in a cell, like a storage room in a school.

Chloroplast
Contains chlorophyll, a green pigment that traps energy for sunlight and gives plants their green color

Chloroplast makes food for the plant cells, just as the cafeteria produces and makes food for the school.

Chromatin
Collection of DNA in nucleus of eukaryotic cells

Chromatin gives instruction on how to make proteins, teachers tell students how to do there give subject and also give them guidance in regards to the future.

Cytoplasm
Jelly-like substance in the cell

The cytoplasm metaphorically represents the air and gravity surrounding the school. Thick fluid that fills the cell and holds all the organelles. The air and gravity surrounds the school and keep it in place.

Cytoskeleton
Provide support for the cell

The cytoskeleton represents the support beams within the school. The cytoskeleton provides support for the cell. Support beams do the same, holding up the school and keeping it constructed/together.

Endoplasmic Reticulum
Rough- Transports materials within the cell
Smooth- produces lipids

The smooth and rough endoplasmic reticulum's metaphorically represents hallways. Smooth and rough ER's are passageways that send and delivers proteins throughout the cell. Hallways are passageways that send and deliver students throughout the school.

Golgi Apparatus
Packages proteins for transport out of the cell

The Golgi apparatus acts as the transporting function in the cell. It packages proteins for transport out of the cell. A school bus/school bus stop act as the transporting function for the school. The bus transports the kids to and from school.

Mitochondria
Produces a usable from energy for the cell

The mitochondria produces a usable energy for the cell. The athletic program of a school produces spirit, comradery, and school energy.

Nucleus
Organelle that manages or controls all the cell functions in a eukaryotic cell

Just as the nucleus controls the cell and all its functions, the principal or president of a school controls the school and all its functions.

Ribosomes
Structure that produces proteins

Ribosomes produce proteins for the cell. Students produce events and beneficial activities for the school. Therefore metaphorically appearing to be ribosomes. Producing good or 'Proteins' for the cell or school.

Central Vacuole
Holds material and waste

The central vacuole holds/stores material and waste. The dumpsters around a school do the same. Storing material/school supplies/equipment and waste/trash around the school. Dumpsters around a school metaphorically represent the central vacuole.
