BLESSED ARE THE POOR AND SPIRIT, FOR THEIRS IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

  • This means that you can not only be poor financially but you can be poor in spirit .
  • This way we can turn to god for are needs instead of focusing on wealth.
  • That we we are willing to give up things that we own.

BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO MOURN, FOR THEY SHALL BE COMFORTED

  • This means that when you find a loved one.
  • You start to care about them more and trust them.
  • So when they are sad you feel there sorrow.

BLESSED ARE THE MEEK, FOR THEY SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH

  • A meek person is a humble, gentle and relaxed person.
  • A gentle person never is bossy, stubborn and mean.
  • It encourages you to love everyone just as Jesus did.

BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO HUNGER AND THIRST FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS, FOR THEY WILL BE SATISFIED

  • When we are hungry and thirsty we do something about it.
  • Some people can’t always do something about it.
  • They have to learn by God and keep their relationship with him.

BLESSED ARE THE MERCIFUL, FOR THEY WILL BE SHOWN MERCY

  • This means that Jesus is a friend of the poor and the sinners.
  • This means that Jesus forgives the sinners and people who hurt him.
  • To follow Jesus we must have a heart to forgive Jesus.

BLESSED ARE THE CLEAN OF HEART, FOR THEY WILL SEE GOD

  • This means that having God at the center of your life.
  • Every action, word, and decision flows from God.
  • Every right thing you do is a gift from God.

BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS, FOR THEY SHALL BE CALLED CHILDREN OF GOD

  • This beatitude is saying to be a peacemaker you must bring peace to yourself.
  • Then you can start to spread peace throughout the community.
  • For example, Jesus brought peace wherever he went.

BLESSED ARE THE PERSECUTED FOR THE SAKE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, FOR THEIRS IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

  • This means as a Christian you face many challenges.
  • In order to face these challenges you learn what being Christian is like.
  • We do it with great joy to have a personal love for Jesus.
