  • No plagiarism OR fabrication
  • Avoid conflicts of interest
  • No coverage in exchange for anything
  • No anonymous sources without approval of editor-in-chief
  • Do not misrepresent yourself or The Beacon

Do not become PART of the story.

Tell your editors ASAP if you think/hear something published is inaccurate.

Be neutral

You are a journalist. Not a fan or a critic.

  • Call sources immediately after meeting
  • Do not agree to email interviews
