What do ADs do?

  • Planning and Execution of Visual Art elements in the Ad Campaign
  • Thoroughly understand the product or service
  • Understand the target audience

Flow of Ad's Work

  • Information from research department, account planning department, account executive, or creative director
  • Intuitively know what to do (Good AD)
  • Work with copywriter as a team (Usually)

How the idea works

  • Develop rough sketches of the idea
  • Develop more full, finished version
  • Execute comprehensive drawing (Close to finishing piece)
  • Supervise the production (Dimensions, visually appealing...)
  • Approved by Client

Product

What makes a Good AD?

  • Knows all typefaces (there are 1000s!)
  • Intuitive, automatic appreciation (art sense!)
  • Selection of appropriate images and photographs (maybe experience)
  • Education as AD (previously not prerequisite)
  • Computer proficiency (Now!)
