If I enlist how long will I have to serve?

  • Most first-term enlistments require a commitment to four years active and two years inactive

Can I decide where I want to be stationed?

  • No you don't have any input, at the beginning your recruiter will place you where they are in need of position filled.

Where will I most likely be stationed?

  • Where you're stationed depends on what Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) you choose and the availability of slots.

What educational benifits are offered

  • The Congressional Budget Office recently estimated that the average active duty service member receives an Army benefits and pay compensation package worth $99,000. Noncash compensation represents almost 60 percent of this package. Noncash compensation such as health care, retirement pay, child care and free or subsidized food, housing and education. Coupled with regular cash compensation, this adds up to attractive military compensation for Soldiers.

What is the chance of getting the job I want?

  • The army guarantees training in the job you want amongst enlisting in the military.

Will I be eligible for the GI Bill?

  • To use MGIB (Montgomery GI Bill) as an active duty member or after you're separated from active duty, you must obtain a high school diploma or equivalency certificate before you apply for benefits. Completing 12 hours toward a college degree before you apply for benefits also meets this requirement

  • Yes you have to have passed your ASVAB.

Post-Project

  • After researching the military the best branch for me would be the army because i am use to being in the woods and using guns and i would enjoy it the most.
