The Arctic wolf's diet mainly consists of lemmings, and arctic hares, but small prey such as these are not very sustainable for this top-of-the-food-chain predator.
When the wolves go on the prowl, they need a stradegy, like in a football game. They spread out at try to seperate the young and weak from the herd. Then, they are unprotected and helpless; kand the pack can easily get in.
The alpha pair are the only only ones allowed to mate and reproduce offspring. The alpha male leads then into a hunt, while the female stays at the den and guards the wolfpups.
