Mesoamerica
*This region includes lands
stretching from the Valley of Mexico to Costa Rica in Central America
•People called the Olmec Near present-day Vera Cruz,Mexico
•Started around 2,000 b.c and lasted about 800 years.

Teotihuacán
•The Inland people seized control of trade, and built the first planned out city in the Americas.
•Teotihuacán was located near Lake Texoco in Mexico.

Cuzco

•Cuzco was located North of Mesoamerica
The Native Americas occupied Cuzco, and developed their own ways of living

Cahokia
•Cahokia was located in what is now modern day South Illinois across from the Mississippi River.
The Mississippians occupied Cahokia, building mounds that held temples, homes for the rich, and burial sites. In early A.D 1300s the civilization collapsed and the cities where abandoned.
