December 25, 1776
Washington and 2,000 troops Crossed the Delaware River
for a suprise attack on Trenton.
The British sent troops, but Washington and his men rode
to Princeton, where they were successful.

THE BATTLE OF SERATOGA
The British split New England from the Middle Colonies
by taking control of the Hudson River valley. British
general John Burgoyne went to Albany, but was surrounded
by militiamen under General Horatio Gates. Burgoyne was
forced to surrender.
