PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Ted Bundy was an American serial killer who assaulted and murdered numerous young women and girls during the 1970s.Before his execution Bundy confessed to 30 homicides committed in 7 different states between 1974 and 1978.The true victim count remains unknown and could be higher.
MURDER METHODS
- Bundy would sometimes lure his victims to his car by disguising as a police officer and then assault and strangle them in his car.
- He would also fake an injury by wearing a sling and lure victims to his car.
Kimberly Leach Murder:
Witnesses saw Ted Bundy leading a visibly upset Kimberly Leach to a white van. Witnesses assumed he was a father taking his pre-teen daughter out of school. She was found on her stomach naked from the neck down. Her shirt had been pulled up and around her neck. The rest of her clothes were found in a pile not far from the body. While he was raping her from behind, he slit her throat from ear to ear. She died during intercourse. He left her body in an abandoned hog pen near Suwannee River State Park.
During the Chi Omega trial Ted acted as his own defence attorney as he was confident in his abilities and believed he would be given a fair trial.There was two trials that would sway the jury against Ted.The first was Nita Neary on what she had seen the night of the murders she pointed ted as the man she had seen fleeing out of the building.The second event was the testimony of Dr Richard Souviron regarding the bite marks on one of Teds victims Lisa Leavy.
