LoTI Digital-Age Goals & Recommendations

  • Move Current LoTi Level 2 Staff to Level 4a
  • Provide Continued Growth for Staff at Levels Above 2
  • Increase Staff Technology Competence & Confidence 
  • Align PD with Priority Area: Professional Growth & Leadership
  • Develop Individualized PD focusing on HOTS and Student Centered Learning

Step 1: Present Survey Results

  • Share the results with the staff and Interpret the Data
  • Highlight the areas of strength /Discuss areas of weaknesses
  • Allow Staff to provide input for Next Steps/Staff Developments
  • Review School Digital Age Priority: Professional Growth &  Leadership
  • Present Individualized Professional Development Technology Plans 

Step 2: Individualized PD Plan

  • Assist teachers with Creating Individualized Instructional Technology Plans
  • Teachers Create and Set Goals for growth Based on LoTi , CIP, & PCU Levels 
  • Identify Professional Development Needs based on areas of Weakness
  • Identify opportunities to Refine and Extend areas of Strength
  • Individualized Plans will drive Professional Development
Promotes individual analysis of the LoTi survey Data, as well as an evaluation of strengths and weaknesses to develop an individual plan for growth.

Step 3: Create A Technology Team

  • Includes a Representative from each Department
  • Team Members are Technologically Fluent /Higher LoTi Survey Levels 
  • Function as School Models for Technology Use, Support, and  Resources
  • Participate in/ Suggest School-wide Instructional Technology Initiatives
  • Assist with Professional Development and/or Identifying PD Opportunities
Encourages Growth and Potential Technology Building Leaders.

Step 4: Host A Technology Fair

  • Allows Teachers to become familiar with Available Digital Resources
  • Technology Demonstrations to Share Possible Classroom Usage
  • Promotes Interaction & Self Directed Learning
  • Non-Threatening & Non-Traditional Professional Development
  • School Technology Team will Assist with Fair Facilitation
"Though 100% of Mays High School participants reported having instructional access to digital tools and resources for teacher and student use, approximately 83% of these same participants indicated that they felt fluent in using digital tools and resources in the workplace for student learning."

Step 5: PD Workshops

  • Develop PD Workshops Based on Digital Age Goals & Recommendations
  • Differentiated PD Based on Individualized Instructional Technology Plans
  • Model Use of Technology to Promote Higher Order Thinking and Engagement
  • Model Use of Technology for Authentic Assessment and Real World Learning 
  • Model Use of Technology for Collaboration and Problem Solving
Promotes the Constructivist Approach. Focuses on the Individual Learners needs, and allows the learner to select learning opportunities.

Step 6: Technology ToolBox

  • Assist Teachers with Creating a Technology Toolbox
  • Go To Resource of Digital Tools to use for Instruction 
  • Toolbox is Personalized, Ongoing, and can reflect Growth
  • Toolbox can be created using a Visual Tool: Padlet or Pinterest

Step 7: Support Teacher Planning

  • Lesson Planning should focus on Integrating Available Digital Resources
  • Incorporate NETS standards with Common Core Standards
  • Technology to Promote HOTS/Engagement/Authentic Learning
  • Incorporate Goals from Individualized Instructional Technology Plans
  • Utilize Departmental Technology Team Members for Additional Support

Step 8: Support & Evaluation

  • Model  & Facilitate Technology Usage in Classrooms 
  • Observe Technology Usage in Classrooms and Provide Feedback
  • Meet with Building Leaders to Analyze & Review Digital-Age Goals & Progress
  • Collaborate with Technology Team to Facilitate & Support School Initiatives
  • Provide, Inform, and Facilitate ongoing Staff Developments
