Technology for Teachers

I think it is important to get teachers better acquainted with technology. Here is what I would do...

First, there would be an assessment of what tech tools they are most comfortable with. Apple? Microsoft? Google?

Then, I would want to know what their strengths and weaknesses are with technology.

...keep in mind that I would use tech tools from day one.

Two areas of focus for impact:

• Digitization
• Opening of information

Digitization:
Tablets, wall/desk-sized screens, interactive whiteboards, data projectors, and so on.

Digitization

• Just as digitization is used throughout all aspects of the classroom, it can also be used among school staff.
• Teachers and administrators can use tablets for daily tasks.
• Screens and whiteboards can be used during meetings, trainings, parent-teacher conferences, etc.

Opening of Information:
Online school communities, inter-school teaching platforms, education app stores, etc.

Opening of Information

• These are great ways of giving and receiving information, feedback, messaging, and enhancing the learning process overall.
• Teachers and administrators can use these tools for themselves too (not just for students).
