Tae Kwon Do: What Is It?

  • Korean form of Martial Art.
  • Focus on defense and counter attacks.
  • Deeply rooted in discipline and etiquette.
  • Utilizes a wide variety of kicks and hand techniques.

Ranking System

  • Belt order: White, Yellow, Green, Blue, Red, Black.
  • There are nine degrees of black belt.
  • 1st Degree is lowest; 9th Degree is the highest rank achievable.

Patterns

  • A choreographed set of complex motions that each student must memorize, practice, and perform to achieve their new rank.

Step-Sparring:
Counter-attacking an oncoming opponent to quickly end a fight.

Combinations: Free-style motions that show off diversity, fluidity, and creativity!

Bag Work

Emotion in motion. Fire up and let loose!

Free Sparring

Full speed fight with a partner. Control is key to avoid injury.
