WHEN DID IT START?

• It started on March 15, 2011.
• It is still going on till this day and we are talking negotiations over this.
• This still may go on for years to come.

BACKGROUND

• The Syrian government has been killing their own people.
• Not only by guns but by massive destructive nuclear weapons.
• U.S. starts to intervene with Syria when they start using nuclear weapons.
• The death toll surpassed 100,000 in June 2013, and reached 120,000 in September of 2013

• People were protesting to Arab Springs, the government corruption and human rights abuse.
• Gov. responded by large arrests, police brutality, torture of prisoners.
• However protests continued to grow
• Assad begins launching large scale military operations.
• In January 2012, Assad began using large scale artillery operation's against insurgency.

TODAY

• We are trying to negotiate terms on stopping the use of nuclear weapons.

ATTACKS OF CHEMICAL WEAPONS USE

• On March 19,2013, missiles fired containing chemical materials were shot into Aleppo killing 25.
• June13 2013, U.S announced Assad had used limited amounts of chemical weapons killing 100 to 150 people.
• August 5 2013, another chemical attack by the Syrian gov. affecting over 400 people.
• August 21 2013, reports of nerve gas attacks killing at least 635 people.
