After a nuclear disaster in Japan, Switzerlands people are calling for a change in their nuclear energy source.

Causes

• A nuclear disaster in Japan motivated Switzerland to change energy sources.
• Nuclear power is NOT safe for the enviorment, making people not want to use it.
• Nuclear power is not renewable, which made people not want to use it.

Effects

• Peaceful protests have been going on to change energy sources to renewable energy sources.
• Switzerland is trying to take action by helping the country change its energy source (see in solutions).
• Switzerland has decided to launch a project called the SwissEnergy action plan.

Solution
Official Solution: Switzerland is launching the SwissEnergy action plan. They are also planning to phase nuclear energy by 2034.
