WHy it's important

  • Homework is a tool to reinforce what you have learned throughout the day.
  • It improves memorization skills and increases brain capacity to learn more.
  • Students need to know what was correct to understand the assignment.
  • Parents who get too involved in homework don't let a child learn.
  • Homework teaches students present and future responsibilities.

IT's Affects on the future

  • Homework prepares us for jobs that we may have in the future.
  • Even if we're at home, it teaches us that we have responsibilities to do.
  • Even if we finished high school/college, our education hasn't finished.
  • Homework in primary/middle school prepares us for higher grade levels.

summary

  • Homework teaches responsibility for the future.
  • Homework should be self-done so that they learn on their own and remember.
  • Students need to know what's correct to get feedback.
  • No feedback limits or even eliminates the understanding of the assignment.

1) "Plain Folks" Appeal: Students and parents agree that doing homework is an effective way of studying.
2) Bandwagon Appeal: Everyone wants to have a good future and the only way to be successful is by doing homework.
3) Appeals to Fear: If you don't do your homework, you will never be successful.
4) Ethical Appeal: Doing your homework makes you a good student and being a good student is the right thing to do.
5) Loaded Language: Through homework, you can achieve a successful education while avoiding an unfulfilled career.
