HOME

  • They live where most rainfall occurs.
  • Wet,dry forest, woodlands.
  • Cool and tropical climates help them live.
  • Live in hollow trees.

WHAT ARE SUGAR GLIDERS

  • They are a marsupial mammal.
  • Native to Australia
  • Adults can weigh 4-5 ounces.
  • They can live 9-15 years in captivity.

FOOD SUPPLY

  • Living as a pet they should have a diet.
  • Fresh fruits, vegetables, and protein are what they should eat.
  • They should be getting vitamins everyday with calcium somewhere in there.

BEHAVIOR

  • They are naturally fearful of humans.
  • To calm them down, put their head to their stomach.
  • If you are bitten do not throw them down cause they will learn to use that to get away.

TRAVEL METHODS

  • They can glide through the air for along distance.
  • In the wild they will never be on the ground.
  • Sugar gliders mainly live on trees in the wild.

PARENT HOOD

  • When joeys are born they are about the size of a grain of rice.
  • The mother will carry around the little one in here pouch for about a month.

PREDATORS

  • Owls are a primary killer to sugar gliders.
  • Snakes can also get to the through the night and possibly during the day.

AS PETS

  • They are so popular to have as a pet in the United States.
  • In most states it requires a license to own or breed them.
