Mouth
Contains saliva, tongue, and teeth.
While the teeth break down food
the saliva moistens it, and the enzymes break it down.

Esophagus
The esophagus is a hollow round tube that contracts and sends food to the stomach.

Stomach
The stomach is a hollow muscular pouch. The stomach uses muscles (smooth muscle), acids and other chemicals to break down food into smaller pieces.

Small Intestine
The small intestine is a tube lined with villi, the small intestine aborts nutrients into the blood and chemically digests food.

Liver
The liver is a large triangular shaped organ that aids in digestion by producing chemicals that break down food.

Large Intestine
The large intestine is a tube that contracts and pushes food toward the anal it also helps to get rid of waste and absorbed water back into the blood.

Anus
A muscular opening that allows waste to exit the body.
