  • can be simple or complex
  • could be people, places, objects, or situations
  • real or imagined
  • anticipated or unexpected

RESPONSE TO STRESS

  • Alarm- mind and body go into high alert
  • Resistance- your body adapts and reacts to stress
  • Fatigue- if prolonged exposure, your body loses abilty to adapt
  • Responses trigger when faced with something dangerous, difficult, or painful
  • Responses are involuntary and automatic
