Solids: The molecules in solids are held firmly but can vibrate in a limited area.
Example: Ice

Liquids: The molecules that make up liquids move freely around each other.
Example: Water

Gases: The molecules that make up a gas fly in all directions at great speeds.
Example: Water Vapor

Plasma: At the very high temperatures of stars, atoms lose their electrons. The mixture of nuclei and electrons result in plasma.
