INSOMNIA

  • Sleep Disorder
  • Inability to fall asleep
  • 3 types: acute, transient , chronic

NARCOLEPSY

  • Loss of the brain's ability to regulate sleep-wake cycles normally
  • Experience frequent excessive daytime sleepiness
  • Disturbed nocturnal sleep which often is confused with insomnia

SLEEP APNEA

  • sleep disorder in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts
  • Two main types: objstructive and central
  • some symptoms are snoring and feeling tired when rested

NIGHT TERRORS

  • Causes feelings of terror and dread
  • Occurs during the first hours of NREM sleep
  • Occur less frequently with age
