WHAT EXACTLY IS THE PROBLEM?

  • Adults and children are starving because there countries economy is weak.
  • Another problem is that there is a major drought.
  • Poverty is also taking place.
  • Poverty can be the result of political instability, ethnic conflicts, climate change and other man-made causes

WHERE IS THIS PROBLEM TAKING PLACE?

  • Starvation is mainly taking place in the subsaharan part of Africa.
  • The main countries are Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya.

WHO IS INVOLVED?

  • The people of west Africa are the most effected.
  • Some charity groups helping this cause the seven loaves project and Stop Hunger Now
  • The seven loaves project is a group that travels to Africa and builds smaller villages bakery's.
  • Also, Stop Hunger Now total packaged 119,826,646 for 65 different countries in Africa.

WHY IS PROBLEM HAPPENING?

  • It is mainly happening because of the droughts and crop shortages.
  • But the other regions in Somalia are dry, hot, and don't get a lot of rain per year.
  • Without rain the crops there won't grow and there won't be enough food for everyone.

WHEN DID THIS START?

  • Poverty reduction in most of Africa has slowed since the 1970s.
  • in Somalia in 2011 the East African famine began which lead to starvation.
  • Also, starvation has always been a part of Africa because there economy is very weak.

HOW CAN THIS PROBLEM BE SOLVED?

  • 28 million US dollars have been given to create more camps in Ethiopia.
  • Also anyone and everyone should or try to raise money for Africa because it is easy.
  • Sending over food and supplies is another option to help those who need it.
