Stars and Thermochemistry

I will answer and explain, to the best of my ability, questions on a Star’s Life Cycle and Thermochemistry.

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

A STAR’S LIFE CYCLE

...THEN THERMOCHEMISTRY

HOW ARE STARS BORN?

  • They’re born in a Nebula
  • They’re made of the dust and hydrogen in Nebulas
  • The dust and hydrogen are pulled together by gravity
  • This makes a proto-star which later becomes a star

WHAT’S THE LIFE CYCLE OF MEDIUM STARS?

WHAT’S THE LIFE CYCLE OF LARGE STARS?

HOW WERE SMALL ELEMENTS CREATED?

  • The elements are made by thermo-nuclear fusion
  • Thermo-nuclear fusion is 2 nuclei combining

THERMOCHEMISTRY

WHAT’S DIFFERENT ABOUT HEAT COMPARED TO TEMP?

  • Heat is energy stored in an object
  • Temperature is the speed of molecules

WHAT’S DIFFERENT BETWEEN EXO AND ENDOTHERMIC ENERGY?

  • Exothermic is a release of energy(-/\H)
  • Endothermic is an absorption of energy(/\H)

WHAT’S SPECIFIC HEAT(c) AND THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN IT’S HIGHS AND LOWS?

  • High specific heat means that it will be harder for it to cool down
  • Low specific heat means that it will be easier to cool down

How can q=mc/\T calculate heat energy?
