The first permanent British settlement in SC.

CHEROKEE

A native American tribe settled in the Southeastern United States

PLANTATIONS

A place of land where crops are grown and sold. (or where slaves worked)

WIGWAM

A dome shaped house used by the Native Americans. Covered with hides, sticks, and reeds.

CHARLESFORT

A French settlement that didn't go well. After a while, it was abandoned.

CATAWBA

Lived along the rivers of Piedmont. Lived in wigwams. Smallpox wiped out many villages.
