I chose St. Bernadette as my confirmation saint because I could relate to her the most. When I was younger I had received anointing of the sick twice because of my bad asthma and bad health. I also do not have the greatest of memories but I follow St. Bernadette's simple way and do what I can to please God and stay humble. Lastly, like St. Bernadette I pray to Our Lady and ask for her help and protection. I After Sunday mass I will always take time after to kneel before her image and thank her. Bernadette was a very simple girl who did not do extravagant deeds, she lived her life day to day along with prayer and the desire to please God.

A person being confirmed is given the opportunity to choose a confirmation name to mark a new faze in their life, honor a saint, and perhaps follow that saint's way of life.
