  • The tallest peak is Mount Aconcagua, which is about 6,960 feet high
  • The Andes are the second highest mountain range in the world
  • They are also the longest
  • The Andes are split into three regions the southern, central, and the northern

THE ALTIPLANO

  • It occupies northern chile and Argentina western Bolivia and southern Peru
  • Altiplano is Spanish for high plain
  • 2nd highest plateau in the world
