  • Run through Ecuador,Peru,Bolivia,and Chile
  • Source for many tributaries of the Amazon river.
  • Earthquakes disturb andean glaciers sending ice and mud down the mountains.
  • The andes have lots of llamas that rome the slopes

  • One of these, lake titicaca is the highest lake in the world that large ships can cross
  • The large island south of the strait is tierra del fuego or land of fire.
  • Chile and ecuador both control large islands in the pacific ocean.
  • Ecuador's volcanic galapagos islands have wildlife not found anywhere else in the world.
  • Water collects in two large lakes.
