WHAT IS SPINA BIFIDA?

• It is a disease that occurs in the womb
• The baby's spinal column does not close
• Sometimes your nerves get sick
• Sometimes you see holes on your back
• Spina bifida is a horrible disease

HOW SPINA BIFIDA GROWS

• Spina bifida grows when a hole in the spinal cord opens.
• Blood comes out of the hole-but not too much.
• When it stops, some blood sticks in the hole.
• Sometimes your nerves get a little bloody.
• When you sit, some of the goo goes to your back.

HOW DOES THE SPINAL BALL GROW?

• The ball starts out tiny, then it gets huge.
• The hole first starts inside of your body
• As the spinal ball grows, it presses out of your back
• Then a little hole pops blood out.

BABIES GETTING SPINABIFIDA

• Babies must go through many tests.
• Parents receive results within a few days.
• A baby may bleed from the lower back.
• Spinabifida may kill a baby.

WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS?

• If you get sicker you may bleed.
• When you have spinabifida your back starts to hurt.
• Spinabifda prevents you from walking
• It also makes your nerves sick
• Your back starts to get reddish.

HOW DOES SPINA BIFIDA MAKE YOU FEEL?

• It makes your head hurt.
• It also makes your stomach hurt.
• It makes you feel like throwing up!
• Also, it can make your legs even weaker.
• It can also cause death.

HOW CAN WE HELP?

• Send money to the spina bifida association
• We can send clothes to people who are affected by spina bifida
• We can raise money by selling crafts, or school supplies
• We can help by sending toys to the center for spina bifida
• We can start a collection of food for spina bifida patients

OTHER WAYS TO HELP THE SPINA BIFIDA CAUSE:

• We can help by sending wheel chairs to the spina bifida center.
• All the kids that thave spina bifida should have free medical care.
• We can send ointment and other supplies to a spina bifida center.
