HISTORY OF FAD DIETS

  • The first and earliest fad diet was the vinegar & water diet in 1820 made by Byron
  • The first carbohydrate diet came in 1825 by Jean Brillat - Savarin
  • More and more fad diets are being invented dating back to 1820.
  • Almost 195 years of fad diets!!!
  • Special K diet (challenge) dates back to 1956 by the Kellogg Company

SPECIAL K FAD DIET

INFORMATION ABOUT THE FAD DIET

  • low-fiber, non-whole grain cereals not just for breakfast,but for dinner?
  • Goal: is to lose 6 pounds in 2 weeks!
  • It contains give away offers for a lot of health and fitness products
  • It contains excellent dieting information on the back of the box
  • Rice and wheat are the condiments inside the cereal box.

  • The diet promotes quick weight lost
  • It is designed to be a quick diet.
  • It is a well- balanced diet plan.
  • 6 pounds in 14 days. Can't beat that right?!

CONS

  • It's not a long term program
  • The only support it comes from is the cereal box and the website
  • It has very little education and no health experts to help the dieters
  • Many people who experienced this challenge call it " nothing really special"

PROS

  • If it works and you lose weight you will be healthier.
  • Any cereal diet is lower in fat than most diets because cereal is a naturally low-fat food.
  • This is an easy diet.
  • Lucy Clarkson is representing Special K
  • Very cost effective.
