April 20: 66 days
6 tasks
(1 done every 11 days)
On the website, you can view video and google doc for each one of the six remaining steps and work when it is convenient for you.
Step One
All SP Rubric committee members need to score with the rubric and share their notes with Wende.
Send your thoughts about rubric generated from scoring to Wende.
(See example from Alice.)
Wende will glean items to add or change in rubric from committee scoring notes and proceed from there.
Step Two
From notes, items for glossary are identified by Wende. Committee members will watch a video on glossary and will volunteer to draft definitions in emails with Wende.
If you have identified an item that needs a definition in the rubric, Wende will ask you to draft a definition and send it to Wende.
Wende will add the definition to the draft rubric document.
The committee will be asked to read the definitions and approve it on a phone call in March or April.
What is Framing Language?
Step Three
Committee members will watch a video on framing language and will read 2 examples.
Framing language is a few paragraphs placed at the top of the rubric.
In the past, committee members have wanted people who use the rubric to know the viewpoint from which the rubric was created.
Please read the two examples Wende emails of framing language.
Gather your thoughts on the SP Rubric framing language.
What Framing Language Is Needed
Step Four
Wende asks each committee member over email what should be addressed in framing language
Receive email from Wende and reply with your thoughts about framing language.
Wende will compile the committee member's thoughts on framing language.
Wende will distribute the compilation of the committee member's thoughts on framing language.
Drafting Framing Language
Step Five
Committee members will volunteer to draft parts of framing language
Based on the compilation of thoughts on framing language, Wende will ask committee members to write framing language and email it back.
Framing language written by committee members will be added to rubric document.
The committee will be asked to read the framing language and approve it on a phone call in March or April.
Approve Rubric Language Conference Calls
Step Six
Two phone calls are had to walk through glossary, framing language, and rubric, finalizing all language and releasing rubric to the public
With glossary completed, notes on rubric language added, and framing language completed, the committee needs to gather to walk through and approve final rubric.
Two hour long phone calls will be planned to leave enough time for wordsmithing and discussion.
Phone calls will be scheduled via Doodle poll delivered by email.
Once times are identified, the committee members will be notified.
