  • Countries that have have a part of the Andes mountains in them are Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina

CLIMATE AND VEGETATION

  • The climate gets colder the higher you go in the Andes mountains
  • The climate zones are the Tierra Helada, Tierra Fria, Tierra Templada, and the Tierra Caliente.
  • Each zone has its own livestock and vegetation.
  • Tierra Caliente has a tropical climate with bananas and sugar. Tierra Templada has a mild climate with coffee corn wheat. Tierra Fria has a cold climate along with barley and potatoes. Tierra Helada is a barren land where livestock grazing is performed

  • It's among the worlds longest mountain ranges.
  • It encompasses volcanoes, glaciers, grasslands, deserts, lakes, and forests.
  • They also shelter pre-columbian archaeological sites and wildlife.

ATACAMA DESERT

CLIMATE AND VEGETATION

  • The Atacama desert is a cold desert varying between 0 to 25 degrees Celsius.
  • The Atacama is believed to be one of the driest places on earth with rain rarely coming.
  • Some cacti, perineals, and mesquite are in the areas where rain sometimes falls.

FACTS

  • It extends 1600 kilometers and is 180 kilometers at its widest.
  • Bacteria are even scarce in the desert.
  • Some of the mountains in the area are able to intercept the clouds.

PAMPAS

  • The pampas are located on the south eastern area of South America bordering the Atlantic Ocean.
