• The act of removing salt from water to make it drinkable
• Can be mechanically desalinated or naturally through plants
• Currently being used in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Israel
• Possible issues is it is extremely expensive in large quantities.

Recycling of Water

• The reuse of water
• If the Tucson, Arizona area recycled their water
• 31,000 families could be supported from this amount
• Only about 2.3% of wastewater is being recycled.
