While the men where off fighting for America, the women had to take over the men's jobs. They had to keep things working and productive.

To defeat the Axis Powers, America needed more than soldiers. They needed more weapons such as tanks, guns, etc. They needed the weapons but they feared that Women where not strong enough to work in factories.

The women criticized that the clothes were "unfeminine" because they had to wear pants. They were also upset because they were only paid 60% as much as the men who worked.

The women valued their new opportunities, they were making money and was the head of the household. Soon enough once the war was over they were fired do to the fact that they had to make way for the returning men.

Other than on the Homefront women took jobs in the military. When WW2 started they accepted women as nurses.
