CATHOLICS
- Majority of the population in Marikina
- Marikina was a missionary central during Spanish times
- 5 large, main Catholic churches
- Over 20 chapels
- Allowed Marikina Christmas Festival
IGLESIA NI CRISTO
- Second largest religion in Marikina
- Treated fairly by locals
- 4 major churches in Marikina
- Churches are large, enough to fit many people
- Not a minority, so does not feel isolated
HINDUISM, ISLAM & BUDDHISM
- Minority religions
- Not as welcomed, since minority
- Very few churches/temples
- Some people of this religion,
- have to go elsewhere to find their church

- history and foreigners who arrived here
HOW DOES THIS AFFECT MARIKINA?
- A lot of the events and decisions consider
- the Catholic religion. Even the sapatos festival

- Due to the varied cultures here, Marikina also celebrates
- the Rehiyon-Rehiyon, a festival showcasing its cultures
