Darwinism
Developed by Charles Darwin, saying that species of organisms have different traits they develop through natural selection. Small variations of traits that allow them compete and survive.

What Social Darwinism is

  • The philosophy that success and failure in business were governed
  • by natural laws and that no one had the right to intervene.
  • it grew out of the English naturalist Charles Darwin theory of evolution
  • The english philosopher Herbert Spencer used Darwins theory 

Who is affected

  • The poor lower class and their culture delimited
  • While the successful upper class grew in power
  • Their culture was influenced over the weak.
  • "survival of the fittest" 

Do the rich deserve what they have?

  • Both rich and poor put in hard work
  • In most situations, the rich don't worked for anything
  • they benefit from being in a old money family
  • But some rich people like John D rockefeller didn't have much
  • and made his fortune from hard work

  • Most Europeans that came to the U.S didn't have anything
  • They came to find success and fortune
  • Most of them got caught in low wage jobs with no possibilities of climbing 
  • They are not poor because they are lazy, they are poor because 
  • They live in a country that has too much competion for jobs
