HABITAT

  • Lives in the Artic tundra of Canada and Alaska
  • Lives in very cold and warm climates
  • They live in climates where they can hunt for the most food
  • Snowy owls prefer snowy climates because they can blend into the snow

FOOD CHAIN

  • The snowy owls favorite food are lemmings.
  • The snowy owls like to eat rodents, Arctic hare, squirrels and prairie dogs.
  • To survive the owl must eat seven to twelve lemmings a day
  • Like to eat their prey whole
  • High position in the arctic food chain. Only wolf, fox and man are higher

  • Big yellow eyes for pure eyesight.
  • Feather covered feet to keep them warm.
  • Razor sharp talons for grasping its prey.
  • White feather to blend into the snow.
