POWERFUL LEGS

  • These big mothers help it spring up out of camouflage to attack it's prey.

TAILS

  • Snow Leopards have long, skinny tails with black on brown spots.
  • The tail helps the Snow Leopard keep its balance on steep cliffs, icy slopes and the rest of their harsh environment.

The Snow Leopard's nose is pink if it's a girl and black if it's a boy. It's relatively small.
The Snow Leopard has a large nasal cavity, which warms the cool air before it reaches its lungs.

The big fluffy paws give the Snow Leopard great traction that is needed in their rough environment. The padding on the bottom of their paws give them extra protection for their paws.

INTERNAL FEATURES

  • HUNTING
  • The snow leopard quietly stalks its prey (sheep, goats and small rodents). When its ready it'll pounce (sometimes 50 feet in the air) onto its prey. This gives the prey no time to run or hide.

Living alone

  • The supreme Snow Leopard lives all alone and hunts alone. Maybe this is because there are less mouths to feed, maybe because they're territorial. The only time it hunts or lives with another Snow Leopard is mating season and when they have their cubs.
