PRESENTATION OUTLINE

What type of study is your small scale research project?

E.g. Auteur study
Genre study

List three key points you are going to explore throughout your project

You can start by posing a question

So, how are blonde women represented in Hitchcock films?

So, in what ways does the final girl challenge gender conventions in horror films?

So, how has Kubrick influenced other directors through his strict use of composition?

You can start with a quote

Look through the research in your annotated catalogue. See if you can find an appropriate quote to use at the start of your presentation.

Explaining what your project is about

Explain to your partner what your project is about. You should be able to summarise this in 1-2 sentences.

Your partner will then write down what they think your project is about and read this aloud to the class.

You will then be able to tell if you are communicating what you want to show through your project.

Breaking down your project

Try breaking your project into sections. What would they be?

E.g. For the Hitchcock presentation

- Voyeurism & Objectification
- Psychosexual fury
- Male power & domination

Using theories

Which theories are you using throughout your project?

Sum up these theories in a sentence.

Any flaws in your chosen theories?

List any flaws in your chosen theories or areas that you will argue against in your project.

Linking your chosen films back to your title

Split your page into three sections, each heading should be your focus film & two supporting films.

Make three clear links from your chosen films to your project title. This will ensure you have enough to explore with each chosen film and that they are the correct choices for your study.

Making links between your chosen films

Create a mind map which connects your chosen films.

Show links between all three films and how these can be linked to the theories you have explored.

Use can use paper, or the online mind map maker popplet.com. Here's an example - http://popplet.com/app/#/1574347
