Simple Present and Present Continuous

The present simple refers to an action or event that takes place.
For example:
"I play basketball"
"She writes a book"

The present continuous expresses the idea that something is happening now
For example:
"I´m drawing a picture"
We´re writing a letter"

Is there a?
or
Are there any?

"Is there a?" is to ask questions for singular things.
For example:
"Is there a bank around here?"
The answer is:
Yes, there´s one...
or
No, there isn´t one...

"Are there any?"is to ask questions for plural things.
For example:
"Are there any cash machines near here?"
The answer is:
Yes, there are some...
or
No, there aren´t any...

Can and Could

"Can" is used to ask questions in a normal form.
For example:
"Can you tell me how far is the museum?"

"Could" is used to ask questions in a form more polite.
For example:
"Could you give me a hot coffee please?"

Going to and indirect object

"Going to" is used to express that someone will do something.
For example:
"Luis is going to work at midnight."
"They´re going to swim tomorrow."

Indirect objects are the people or things that are directed by an action that someone does.
For example:
"I wrote a letter to Sara"
For whom is the letter?
R= It´s for Sara

Simple past and was born

The simple past refers to actions that happened a while before.
For example:
"I drank a lemonade"
"He ran two kilometers"

"Was born" is an expression that means the verb of the birth. This expression is in past simple.
For example:
"I was born in 1989"
"My parents were born in USA"

Quantifiers and Determiners

The quantifiers indicate the quantity of things.
For example:
"I have many books"
"There is a lot of candies"

The determiners are words which come at the beginning of the noun phrase like articles, possessives, etc.
For example:
It´s my cell phone"
"That dress is beautiful"

Vocabulary of festivities

We use many words like vague expressions (and stuff, and things, and everything) or echo questions (I´m sorry, excuse me, did you say).
