LITTLE IS KNOWN

• St. Simon the Zealot is one of the most obscure Apostles
• He is only mentioned 4 times in the Bible
• Three times in the Gospels and Once in the Acts of the Apostles

CANAA

• Some refer to him as Simon the Caananite
• Some biblical Scholars think he's from Canaa

ZEALOT

• There is debate whether Simon the Zealot belonged to the Jewish sect of the Zealots or if it just referred to his religious zeal.
• The name is also used to distinguish him from Simon Peter

• St Simon is often associated with St Jude as evangelizing in Egypt, Persia, Armenia, and Lebanon
