SIMILE
A comparison of two (or more) unlike thing using the words "like or as". Ex. sweet as a honeybee.
METAPHOR
A comparison of two (or more) unlike thing without using the words like or as sally uses the words is or are. Ex. My mom is a teddy bear.
IDIOM
A phrase or expression which means something different from what the words actually say. Ex. bury the hatchet.
ONOMATOPOEIA
The use of words that sound like the noise they name or... words that sound. Ex. buzz, pop, and srap.
ALLITERATION
is the repetition of initial consonant sounds in two more or more neighboring words. Ex. Peter peck picked peppers.
PERSONIFICATION
Is giving a non-human thing ( plants,animals,objects,etc.) human traits (qualities,feeling,ideas,and/or characteristic).Ex. The stars winked at me.
