The cities that took the most damage were the cities right next to the fault. By November 6, 2008 there had been 42,719 total aftershocks ranging from magnitude 4.0 to 6.1 with the strongest being 6.4.

The earthquake left 90,000 people dead or missing and presumed dead and left 374,643 people injured. Before the earthquake happened, people were either in school or at work.

34 lakes were formed from landslides and debris blocking the rivers including houses and cars. Roads and highways into the cities that had the most damage broke delaying the rescue forces. The rescue forces are warriors because they were brave and saved thousands of people and saved the people who were terrified and confused because they didn't know what to do.

The earthquake was felt in different countries including Mongolia, Thailand, and Pakistan. In closer countries, buildings swayed but there were no injuries.

The Chinese government spent 1 trillion yuan (About 146.5 billion U.S dollars) over the next 3 years to rebuild the areas ravaged by the earthquake. Countries around the world including Australia and Brazil donated millions of U.S dollars and tons of relief materials. Canada also sent doctors and paramedics to China. Canada is a warrior because they sent the doctors.
