I chose this picture because it represents the conflict between a character named Sam and him self. He is fighting against his human self and his wolf self, trying to stay human but the wolf is taking over him.

1. A girl named Grace, woke up not knowing what was happening, surrounded by wolves, like a red spot in the middle of white.
2. They were tearing her apart, until one wolf with yellow eyes dragged her away from the pack.
3. Grace was bitten, she would have been killed but the wolf saved her fast enough.
4. Ever since that day she studied that wolf, and it studied her. With yellow bright eyes.
5. After a while, she found out that they transform into wolves during the hot weather. Also if you were bitten, you would become a wolf as well.

Conflict: man vs. him self
Quotation: " Sam backed away farther, crashing into the cabinet behind him, curling into a ball, uncurling. He was peeling free. He was shaking out of his fur. He was wolf and he was Sam, and then he was just Sam" (Stiefvater 369)

The type of conflict in my novel is man vs. himself.

It is created when the main wolf character Sam, falls in love with Grace and now wants to stay human so he can be with her. He is fighting against the wolf self of him, to stay human.

Quotation: " Sam backed away farther, crashing into the cabinet behind him, curling into a ball, uncurling. He was peeling free. He was shaking out of his fur. He was wolf and he was Sam, and then he was just Sam" (Stiefvater 369)

Explanation: In this quotation, it tells us a little more of how it looked when Sam sort of began to change into wolf and human. It describes him struggling and shows us how difficult it was for him to change from one state to the other. At the end it says "then he was just Sam", this shows that all the effort and pain payed off and now he is his human self again.

The conflict mainly effects two characters in the novel. Grace, which was the girl who was attacked, and Beck who was like the "father" to Sam.

Quotation 1: "I stroked his head and looked into his eyes. God, they were the same. It killed me to look at them now.
This has to work.
A tear slid down my face" (Stiefvater 368).

Quotation 2:
"He is absolutely the best person I've ever met
in the world, and i absolutely ruined him. I have regretted it every day for years" (Stiefvater 357).

The conflict mainly effects two characters in the novel. The first would be Grace, it changed her emotions a lot throughout the story. She would be sad when Sam was a wolf and happy when he was human. He changed a lot through out the story, so it played with Grace's emotions. Grace becomes more stable in a way that she knows now that he can change any time and now she knows how to prevent him from changing states. The second character it affected was Beck, because he wanted Sam to be human because that was Beck's last year so he wanted to spend it with Sam, in human form.

Quotation: Grace- "I stroked his head and looked into his eyes. God, they were the same. It killed me to look at them now.
This has to work.
A tear slid down my face" (Stiefvater 368).

Beck- "He is absolutely the best person I've ever met
in the world, and i absolutely ruined him. I have regretted it every day for years" (Stiefvater 357).

At the end of the novel the conflict is solved, the author does solve the conflict in a way.

Quotation: "She could've looked at the tiny miracles in front of her: my feet, my hands, my fingers, the shape of my shoulders beneath my jacket, my human body, but she only stared at my eyes.
The wind whipped again, through the trees, but it had no force, no power over me. The cold bit at my fingers, but they stayed fingers.
"Grace," I said, very softly. "Say something."
"Sam," she said, and I crushed her to me".

At the end of the novel, the author does solve the conflict in a way. At the end of the book, Sam becomes human again and is now able to stay with Grace. We do not know if it is for sure yet, but it tells us that there is no more worry for Grace or Sam. They could now be together, finally after all the drama and suspense.

Explanation: In the last part of the book, as you can tell Sam came out of the woods and he was human. Even though the cold was bitting him he stayed human. Also as you could tell, Grace was shocked because she did not say anything just his name and she crashed into him. She was surprised because she thought he would never change back to his human state. Now they can live happily ever after.

Theme Statement:
If you try hard enough and believe, than you can succeed.

Quotation: "He was peeling free. He was shaking out of his fur. He was wolf and he was Sam, and then he was just Sam".

Quotation: "I faced him, near enough that I could have reached out and touched his dazzling fur. Or brushed the deep red stain on his muzzle".

Quotation: "I could still smell her on my fur. It clung to me, a memory of another world. I was drunk with it, with the scent of her".

Theme statement:
If you try hard enough and believe, than you can succeed.

Quotation: "He was peeling free. He was shaking out of his fur. He was wolf and he was Sam, and then he was just Sam".

Explanation: In this quotation it is talking about how Grace finally got Sam out of the wolf form, not for long but at least he managed to get out. This happened because Grace believed that Sam could get out of the wolf skin.

Quotation: "I faced him, near enough that I could have reached out and touched his dazzling fur. Or brushed the deep red stain on his muzzle".

Explanation: In this quotation Grace is coming super close to Sam in his wolf form. This was earlier in the book when they had just met or seen each other very close. Grace had tried many times before to get close to him, but it never worked. Somehow because she believed that one day she met him face to face, it finally happened.

Quotation: "I could still smell her on my fur. It clung to me, a memory of another world.
I was drunk with it, with the scent of her".

Explanation: In this quotation it is Sam's side to first meeting Grace face to face, still wolf form though. It was like the happiest moment of Sam's life, finally meeting face to face the girl he had fallen in love with. Again, he had met her because he knew that one day he would, and he tried hard enough to approach her. It was tough since he was a wolf and he did not know what her reaction would be so close to him.

Why you should read it!!

1. It has a really good plot.

All of the story has ups and downs and it actually gets you into the book. It is not boring in any way, and the story/plot is not "useless",like some stories. It actually has a meaning to the story and your life as well. The story can some how connect to you.

2. It includes fantasy, suspense, romance and drama.

This story has a lot of different story types. If you like non realistic books, if you like being left hanging in a story, if you like love and romance books or if you like drama this could be a really good book for you.

3. All of the characters are original and you can tell them apart.

All of the characters have their own personality. Like there is not one character that is like another in this book, which i like because then the book is more interesting and you can describe them better. Also if there are more characters with different personalities you will eventually relate to one of them and you will like the book better because it relates to you or your life.
