DESCRIPTION

  • A typical shingles rash follows the path of nerves on one side of the body
  • generally on the trunk, buttocks, neck, face or scalp
  • Red bumps
  • Itchy
  • Usually after you have chinked pocks

HOW IT ATTACKS

  • After an attack of chickenpox the virus stays in the tissues in your nerves
  • It's easier for shingles to attack when older because weak immune system

VICTIMS IT PREYS ON

  • Older adults that have had chicken pocks (over 50)
  • Or very young children

WHERE IT APPEARS

  • trunk, buttocks, neck, face or scalp

SYMPTOMS

  • itching, tingling, or pain in the area where a rash
  • After done there will be scars

RATE OF DANGER

  • 6 out of 10
  • Can be dangerous By the wreaking of the immune system
  • But In the end you only have scars and not a long lasting disease

TREATMENT

  • There is no cure for shingles
  • Antiviral medicines to reduce the pain and duration of shingles.
  • Over-the-counter pain medicines, such as acetaminophen, aspirin, or ibuprofen, to help reduce pain during an attack of shingles.
  • Topical antibiotics, applied directly to the skin, to stop infection of the blisters

  • There are more than 1 million cases of Shingles each year in the United States.
  • 1 in 3 people will get Shingles during their lifetime.
